In this chapter, glug tells us that he's not the one looking for the master. He's the creator of the spell that lets him know when the master is in danger. He seals the memento with this location so that he won't be able to find it again. He says that hwan is still inside the house, and that the misfortune will disappear. He explains that they had to trick the master into thinking that the man in front of him is the one who's in danger, because the man is only pretending to act suspicious. They had to wait for the moment when the danger would appear, so that they could try to figure out who put the master in danger in the first place. It's been hwan, he says, since the beginning of time, and he'll get rid of the parasite. He tells the master that he can't hide how he feels for hwan. He apologizes for the rudeness of the conversation, and says that he will do everything in his power to keep the master safe.
