About This Chapter
It's been a long time since we've seen the jeongs, and now that we're back in the present, we catch a glimpse of the old man waiting in the car for someone to come pick him up. He's the one who's seen the fight between the two of them, and he's also the person who paid for the hospital bill because the doctor appeared to be broke. The old man's not buying it. He doesn't want to believe that the fight was just a bad luck experience, but he does want to know why the doctor was so insistent on being first. He wants to know if it's better to be first than to be last, or if being first is always better. The man says that being first isn't always the best way to go about things, but that's just the way it is. He says that he hates the way that the doctor keeps caring for his fever reducer, and that the man and the woman share the same "taste" . He tells the man to stop talking nonsense, but the man won't listen to him. He whips the man around and tells him to "splash stay back" because the fever reducer is dangerous. He can't even move because the woman he loves has ordered him to do so. He feels like he knows the man, and the man tells him that the jeung family's "lineage cannot be tarnished" because his daughter will never associate with a slave. The
