In this chapter, we learn that the new slaves have been put to work, and that Jeon has escaped. Jeon asks if he can greet the new arrivals first, or if they should eat breakfast. The new slaves, he says, were nothing more than a loud rabble, and Jeon does not want them to attack Jeon for his own good. He tells Jeon that he is the son of a former powerful Shaman, and now they do not want Jeon to lash out at them. He asks if Jeon sews the designs on his clothes, and he tells him that there are many slaves out there who want to hurt him, and the mistress of Jeon considers him a bother. He says that he has no choice, but to use his power against the old house. He wants his mother to endure pain, so that she will be able to marry Jeon into the royal family. He also wants her to have complete control of the world after he marries into the palace, and those who committed her mother's murder will be held accountable. He promises to buy Jeon a sword if he will allow him to conduct a ceremony to pray for Jeon's happiness.
