In this chapter, we learn that Harriet has been chosen as the new Queen's consort, and that she and Henry are going to spend the night together in the forest. Harriet tells Henry that she's sorry that he's going to have to leave her, but she can't bear to see him alone with her. She tells him that she doesn't want him to think of her as his wife, but rather as a friend. He tells her that he knows that it's her heart that's broken with him, and he won't allow her to be with Henry. Harriet is shocked to hear that she has been named the new queen. She's shocked to find out that Henry hasn't even started his coronation yet. He's not even sure if he'll be able to complete it. He apologizes to her for making him waver. He says that he has always dreamed of being a princess, but now that he is the queen, he can decide whether or not he can share in her way of life. He asks her to show him how he lives, so that they can get to know each other better.
