Soyoung is about to go to woo hwan when he hears that he has betrayed him. He realizes that he was the mistress of the previous life, and he has carried the guilt of that past life with him ever since. He wants to be free of his sin and shackles. He asks why he is staring at him like that, and wonders why he would butt into his business. He wonders why hwan is the one he liked all along. He thinks that dreamwalking revealed who his love was, and that hwan will betray him and cause a new death. He arrives at the pavilion as it is starting to burn, and tries to enter, but he is restrained by yul and hwan. He tries to save her, but they restrain him, and so he is unable to do so either. He feels that he should have died, but that it was all his fault, and she would have been better if he had died with her
