When they get to the exit, Ren and Hei-Zhu are horrified to find that they've run into a group of soldiers. Ren says that he's going to hold them responsible for anything that happens to them. He's also worried that the soldiers are using a smoke grenade, which slows down the movement of the pupils. He thinks they're trying to escape the basement, but he can't figure out why they'd be so late. He tells Ren that they should have waited for the exit. He says that Ren is incompetent, and that Ren should have been more careful with the child. Ren apologizes and says he'll take care of the child now.
