The next morning, Ganymede tries to convince Zev to stay and help him with his homework. He's worried that he'll be late, but Zev assures him that he won't be late. He also says that he doesn't want to be late for work, because he's tired and needs to get back to his job at the factory. He says he'd rather be late than be late at work. He tells Zev not to worry about him, but to go ahead and finish his homework, which is to be done in the middle of the night. Zev is all, "how can I leave you alone? How can i leave? how can I get away from you? You said it yourself, you said it myself. leave me alone , hurry up , and get going , you go . . I'm not going to leave these two days!" Zev realizes that he can't escape the company, so he has to do what's best for him. He thinks about how he was transformed into the person he is now, and how he now has to hide himself in order to survive. This is his only option, he says, and it's the only way he can survive.
