In this chapter, we learn that the "brainwashing" of the other humans has led to the loss of one of the female pilots. The pilot, however, is still able to use her magic to defeat the other female pilots, and she is able to do so without using the other pilots' magic. The other pilots have been unable to use their own magic, so the pilot is forced to use his own. He tries to convince himself that he can use his magic, but he cannot because he is unable to control his emotions. He feels that he has lost the female pilot, and he decides to leave her behind.
