In this chapter, the students discuss the upcoming addition of a new peer to their team. They decide that the new peer will be a "filler teammate" , meaning that she will not be a member of the team in the future. The teacher, however, does not approve of this plan, and wonders if the new student will be leaving the school. The students decide that they need to recruit a new student to join the team, and they ask the teacher if she has already done so. She tells them that she already joined another team, but that she has not yet decided whether or not to join theirs. They ask her if she would consider joining theirs, and she says that she does not join a team that does not have a "solid skillset" . She says that this is why she is not welcomed onto a team, because the other team did not think things through. The other students agree that it will be hard, but they are confident that they have the talent to do so if they work hard enough.
