The next morning, the two girls head back to the gate, where they find that they have been attacked by a group of people who want to kidnap one of them. They apologize to each other for their actions, and the girls decide that they will train to be magical again in a few days. As they walk back to their rooms, the girls talk about the events of the previous day. They discuss the fact that they were both promoted to the top of their class, but that they never wanted to be "a magical girl" . They also discuss how difficult it was for them to practice their magic, and how much Lan reminds them of old times. Lan tells the girls that one of her first solo missions was related to her origins, and that she talked to the other girls about joining her, but they were turned down because the mission was too dangerous. This led Lan to propose that they carry the mission themselves without the grade, and Lan used her magic on her own. She tells Lan that she is a "shameful trash bag" , and tells her that she believes a magical girl must be morally pure before she can use her magic. She also tells her to be open to new ideas and experiences.
