About This Chapter
The monster reappears, and the three of them try to find a way to destroy it. They're not sure how to do it, because there's a crowd everywhere, and they don't know what to do. They decide to ignore the civilians and the monsters, and then leave. The monster is all, "I'm stronger than a grade-syllable s--t!" . He's not going to be intimidated by anyone, he says, and he's going to do what's best for humanity. He tells the girl that she's killing off all of humanity under her leadership, and that she should just go away and live a peaceful life. The girl says that she doesn't hate him, but she does want to know why he'd want to kill her again. He says that if his value goes away, he won't be able to get the medicine that makes him stronger, or she'll kill him before he even gets stronger. He also says that he'll die if he goes against batori, because he doesn1t want to live in a place where he won1t be valued. He asks the girl if she hates him, and she says she does, but that he shouldn1t ask her for her opinion. She asks him to help her, but he refuses, saying that he isn1t going to help batori settle things with her, because that would be selfish. He wants to be his own boss, and if he can do it himself, he1ll do it for himself. He wonders how they can get rid of a tough exterior like that, and wonders why the girl didn1t get burned. He uses his magic to break the bones of the monster, and his hair is growing as a result.
