In this chapter, we learn that Batori's reaction to her magic is weak, and that she is stronger than the others. She is a young girl, but she is also magical, so she is a threat to the other children at the gate. She tells us that she needs to save everyone from the gate before it is too late. She says that there are many other kids like her who are helping her out because they also have a similar mission as she does. She also says that she wants to save the people who have cut ties with the other kids because they are also weaker than she is. Batori asks her to disrupt what the gate is trying to do, and she asks him to do it. He initially does it, but he decides to change because it makes him uncomfortable. He says that it is because of his magic that he is able to remember all of his forgotten memories. He promises to pass on everything he has to her.
