The Governess asks the Governess to tell her about her life at the school. She says that she doesn't know what to tell him, but that she'll tell him about her story the next time she sees him. She tells him that he's the new kid, and she apologizes for all of her sudden questions. She asks him to show her his life, and he says that his life has always been a mess. He says that the other students are doing fine, and that he can't lift one of them. He asks if he'll ever be able to accomplish anything in his time at school, because his body is aching. He tells her that his name is Lan, and his first day at school is awkward. He also tells her about how hard life at gate used to be, and how it's now time to join the team. He explains that the minimum requirement for starting a team is three people, so they're going to have to find someone else to fill that role. He's decided to put his name on the team roster.
