About This Chapter
After listening to the show the previous night, Tamura is disappointed to learn that the show is not as good as it should be. He tells the manager that he will no longer sponsor the show. He also tells Tamura that he has not had a good laugh in a long time. Tamura asks him if he would like to talk about his dreams or plans in the future. He admits that he hasn't had much of a belly laugh in some time. He says that he likes novels where three people die. He adds that the phone call before the third round of the writing competition is to check to make sure that he's got something planned. He doesn't want to give up his job on the radio because he'd rather write a novel. He's surprised that he still has the desire to change jobs. He and Tamura have an early morning to go to work the next day. He asks her why she tried calling her. She says that she was just having a little toast by herself. She tells him that she wants him to see her journey through life to the end. He promises to pay her a proper salary
