About This Chapter
In this chapter, Mizuho, the turtle, and the others are caught in a tunnel. The narrator explains that the tunnel is one of the abandoned irrigation canals in the village of Minare San. He tells the audience that he represents the religious organization, the School of Wave Wisdom, and that he can see only one light out of the tunnel. He says that in the past, the industry of broadcasting was like a religion that convinced people to spend all their time on the media gods. Now, he says, it seems like the industry has lost its place as the "sole ruler of entertain-ment" . He also says that he has seen people lose their minds during company profiles at major stations.
