Hayashi tells Mishima that he and Mishima have found Mishima and reported her disappearance to the police. Mishima is being held captive in a shed near morai, and Hayashi is upset that Mishima didn't tell him sooner. He asks Mishima to go look for Mishima, but Mishima refuses, saying that she has something else she wants to do. She asks him to bring a hand warmer with him, because she doesn't want to go up to the dam, where Mishima's body is trapped in the mud. She says that she can't even lift her body up from the mud, because the mud is so deep that it's hard for her to move forward or backward. She wonders if Mishima made the mud all by herself, and wonders if she's soaked in mud, too. She's worried that she'll have to dig her way out of the mud to get to the sides of the dam. She and Miumika agree that they'll dig their way out, since the dam is the way they're supposed to go. Hayashi thanks Mishima for joining them, and then Mishima asks him if he's feeling well. He says that he ate somethin' for lunch, and that he looks pretty worn out. He thinks Mishima has the flu, and they should change the time of their meeting. He blames himself for the whole mess, and says that the whole thing smells fishy, and he'd like to take care of himself. He wonders if he heard Mishima say that he set a thief after Mishima
