Back in his apartment, Valentine tells his friend, Chishiro, that he can't return to his hometown of Kushiro because of the nude statue and the drunk. He also says that he's too proud to tell his friends about it. Valentine tells him that he entered the advertising business to "get revenge" on people like him, and that he had an adorable ad that let him move in with his friend when he had to vacate his apartment. He says that in recent years, however, his friend has been working as a personal writer for the local newspaper. He's also been working on a few special projects for the newspaper, but he hasn't been able to write as much as he'd like. Valentine says that his sister has been "imposing" on him, but that's cool, since she's been "freeloading" at his brother's house ever since he left his husband. He wonders if his brother realizes that he is the sketchiest guy in town, and he wonders if he'll be able to tell him what he wants to be when he tells his brother. Valentine confesses that he has made up his mind to marry his friend.
