In this chapter, we learn that the teacher of illusion arts, karcia, has taken an oath of celibacy with her students. She tells them that she cannot be with them all the time because she has to teach illusion to four grades. She reminds them that they are supposed to be their master, but that they have been snatched away from them. She asks them if they were given permission to leave, and they tell her that they just want to let go of her.
