In this chapter, we learn that the Governess is from the city of Tong-dong, and that she is the daughter of a man from the town of Sanxiang. The Governess tells us that if the man really dies, he will be so lonely to be alone that he'll drag the whole school down to hell. She also tells us about the painting she found on the ground, which she says is the only painting left in the entire school. She tells the Governer to go check it out, because there's only one more painting left, and she's worried that the place is full of weird omens. She's also worried about the weird noises coming from the school, because she thinks it's just a matter of time before something weird happens. She wants to go back to the dorm, but she can't bring herself to do so, so she goes to the back of the car to check out the place. She sees a black cat on the lawn, and then she finds a notebook with arabic numerals on it. She flips through the notebook and finds a picture of the school's dorm, which is painted on the inside of the notebook.
