The next morning, Zillah wakes up. He tells Zillah that the police have found his last words and the wedding photo. Zillah says that he tried to stop the woman from jumping off the cliff, but she was determined for him at his weak state to do so. He says that the place is full of weird things, but that there is a bottom line there. He asks Zillah to talk about his heart, because he feels his heart is gone. He explains that he can't eat his heart back then, because there's no existing power to keep a person alive after ripping out his heart. He also says that his chest will hurt if he goes against his best interest, but he'll still stick to his original choice if he hangs in there for a bit longer. He offers Zillah some sleep to help him sleep, but Zillah doesn't feel comfortable lending him his favorite pillow. He wants to know what Zillah has to offer him. He's done everything he can to help Zillah, but something has gone wrong with his plan to hide in the woman's place, so he ended up in Zillah's store.
