In this short scene, the murderer, who we'll call "Xu Le" , tells his mother that he's back and that he needs to "carry on with his life" . He tells her that he knocked her out with a bat the night before, and that she's now dead. He's sorry, but he doesn't blame her. He says that if he hadn't killed her, he wouldn't have had to go back to the hospital. He also says that he lost his gambling the day before, but that he was lucky to be alive. He explains that he threw away all of his money and turned himself in to the police, thinking that he would be thrown in jail. But now that he is back, he wants to help his mother. He wants to report to the city police station, but his mother won't let him. She's dead, he says, and he'll die a second time.
