It's now summer, and the final volume of the novel has finally come out. The narrator apologizes that it's been so long since the last volume came out, but he hopes it will be a good time to say good-bye to the gang. He says that everyone is treating him like a "chopped liver" , and that he can't do anything about it. He also says that his brother isn't coming to school, so he's going to have to flunk entrance exams at the same rate as everyone else. Oh, and he says that iroha would be disappointed if she found out that she'd been with someone "so spineless" . Uh-oh, he says. He wants to know why igarashi chose him as her "last boy friend," but he doesn't know how to answer that question. He just wants to be left alone.
