The next morning, Ayado and Yonada are still hanging out, and Ayonado asks Yonada if he'd like to go back to school with them. Yonada says he's not sure he'll be able to ask Ayonada out yet, but he promises to see her later. When Yonada asks why he didn't ask her out, Yonada tells him that he doesn't do that for others, but for himself. He's just trying to be a good friend, he says, and not to hurt his own feelings. He tells Yonada that he hasn't done anything wrong, and that he has always been friends with Yonada. He says that Yonada is bummed because he've been around her all his life, and they haven't had anything to do with each other, so Yonada isn't bummed. He asks how they're doing, and he says that they've all been talking about the same things, which makes him happy. He also says that after falling for Yonada, he has actually liked someone for the first time in his life. He wants Yonada to tell him how to get out of this mess, because he can't figure out how to be happy without Yonada's help. He goes to talk to Yonada about it, but Yonada won't tell him what to do, because Yonada has been fighting with himself all this time, and it seems like Yonada and Ayada aren't going to fight any time soon. He feels jealous of Yonada for being the one who got him to fall in love, but now, he feels like he got to meet Yonada through Yonada
