About This Chapter
In this short scene, the Governess tries to explain to her friend, Ayado, why she is so upset about the story about her and the two girls. She tells him that she is upset because she has just seen Ayondo tremble and tremble, and that he has gone out of his way to thank her. Ayonado tells her that his mother gave her a gift, and she wonders why she cares so much about her son. She also tells him about the sweets she has received from the other girls, and wonders if they would like to eat them. She asks if they like the tomatoes she has gotten from the teacher, and he replies that they do. She then asks if she can make a dessert out of the tomatoes, but he says that he cannot share them, because he has time to do so.
