The chapter ends with Hiroshi explaining that legally, same-sex couples can get the same social security and tax benefits as married couples. He also explains that, as a third-year student at his school, he often describes his coming out as "coming out" . He says that his parents can help him if he wants to hide it from them, but that they can also help if he needs them. The conversation turns to the upcoming mock exam, which Hiroshi is taking the next day. He asks , "Why do you want me to come to the exam with you?" . Nisaka says that she's going there because the girl in her class wants to get into the exam, and that she looks different from her usual self-effacing self.
