The narrator welcomes the audience to the high cultural festival in the town of Kitami. He tells them that the festival is being held in celebration of the city's "urban legend" . He asks them to come and see the play, which is being performed by the vice captain of the school. The narrator tells the audience that the girl in the play is "too cute" , and that he remembers the time when he was wrong about something in eighth grade. He says that he will leave the festival before the girl finds him. The vice captain tells the narrator that he has come to see the girl, whom he calls "the silent princess," and he has sent her a ticket to see her. He is nervous that she will see him in his "juliet outfit" and he asks her if she will come with him. She says that she hasn't changed, but before the summer vacation, they fought. She asks him if he wants to prove that he loves her, and he says that his name is "hateful to myself" because it means "enemy to thee." He tells her that he hopes she will laugh at him, and she replies that she would choke for sure if she heard him laugh at her.
