We learn that in East Asian cultures, lovers are often connected by a "red thread" , which means that they must meet someone before they are 16 years old. In other words, if you want to be with a girl, you have to find her before she's even turned 16. This means finding someone who's already been in your life for a long, long time before you're even old enough to be in love. So, for example, you might want to get married to a girl before she turns 16 because she'll have a better chance of having a good baby if she has a good look .
