The chapter opens with Yukari, the Governess's servant, trying to calm down. She's worried about what's going to happen if something goes wrong in the next room where she's supposed to be doing her job. The Governess tells her that if something does go wrong, they'll have to go to court or do something to stop it. She tells Yukari that she'd do anything to stop the government from spying on her, even if it meant she had to take the government to court. Yukari admits that she didn't think about it at all, but that she was surprised by what she saw. She doesn't know where to go from here, she says, so she just "mumbled" and "lost myself" for a bit. She wonders if she would have done the same thing if it weren't for Yukari.
