The next morning, Mina and Harada wake up to find that the monster has gone to a nearby grocery store to get some food. They decide to try to find the monster, but they're worried that he'll kill them if they try. Mina tells Harada and the others that they'll have to convince a third party to help them find and rescue their brother. He also tells them that another hired hand, named shiomi, is working for them. He's also the last of the hired hands, and they should convince him to join their side. They'll also be able to get Harada's brother back faster, since he's not as ambitious as the others. Mina says that she doesn't want to eat any more, since she feels like she's "restored the power balance" between herself and the monster. She also says she wants to control her body's clock, but she'd rather watch the world than watch the monster's birth.
