About This Chapter
The next morning, Hirokazu tells his father that he and the others have run away from the house. He asks his father to follow them so that they do not notice them. The elder Pa tells him to take off his shoes and move the body so that it does not rub against the ground. He tells his son that it is better to stay in stasis than to run away. He says that if they freeze to death, they will not be able to lift the spell to return to the outside world. He also says that he knows that they did not have a plan to escape. He wonders if they gave him special treatment when they put him in charge of convincing them. He then asks where the "stone" is hidden. He wants to know where they hid it, but his father says that looking after it is the job of the household and that there is no need to carry it around with them. When he finds some towels in the dry, he runs out the window and runs back inside.
