In this chapter, we learn that the herald was mummified, and that Mina and Harada were separated from their family in stasis. They plan to follow Harada after he takes the takafumi and surround the family. Mina wonders if there was anything inside the herald, but Harada assures her that it was just "artificial" and that there was nothing wrong with it. They decide to use the stalled herald as a warning to the family to surrender, and then they can use it to provoke the family into submission.
