"A special dawn story" is the title of a short story by Hiroshi Hosono, which opens at dawn. It's about a young man named em>Cerrigo/em>, who is in love with a girl named Mami . The two of them go out for a walk, and the narrator tells us that they haven't yet decided whether or not they're going to go on a date. The narrator is worried about what might happen if he gets into a car accident, and he wonders if he can do it while he's waiting for him. He's also worried about how he'll react if he doesn't make it to the end of the day. He asks Mami if she's okay, and she says that she is, and that she'll be back soon. He tells her that he'd like to have a drink with her, but that he can't do it right now. Mami says that if he drinks too much, he won't be able to remember what happened, and then she says, "fif do 6 drinks bar dun dun, i'd be ashamed you remember that" . Mami tells the narrator that she remembers that it was a "momentary event" , which means that if she didn't drink, she wouldn't know what happened to him in the car accident. Mami then tells him that she will have a special beef to share with him, and they'll have dinner together. Mami is worried that they might not be having dinner together right now, since they've only been together for a short time.
