Back at the house, the girl is crying because she's been dumped. The girl asks the boy if he's going home already, and the boy says that he'd rather not go home. He's not sure if it's time for him to settle down, or if he has someone else in mind. He says that it would be rude to take the girl away from him, even though he doesn't have feelings for her. He also says that if he went out with her, he wouldn't be able to take her away from Hiro, and that he knows he can't bring himself to do so. He asks if he can talk to his dad about the idea of going on a trip, and he says that since he'll be staying longer than usual, it might be a good idea to talk to him about it. He then asks if the girl will come on the trip with them, and she says yes. He tells her that she has to go to the town ofuzumasa once in her life, so she should go along with it. She says that she'd like to go, too, but that she wants to stay three nights instead of going to the city of kyoto. She tells him that she feels bad for Hiro and dai-chan, because she thinks they're going to get another cake together. She asks him to tell her that he likes her.
