Back at school, Hiroshi and his friend, Chi-chan, are hanging out at Hiroshi's house, and Hiroshi tells them that he's been helping out at his friend's place. He's 24 years old, and he looks a lot older than he does. When they're alone together, he tells her that he doesn't want her to live alone, even though he "sucks" at it. He tells her to keep it up, though, because he'll be thinking about her when he dies.
