About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that she's decided on a new curfew for the house. It's set at 7:00 p.m., which means that she can't leave the house without being asked to do so. She's also not allowed to do her laundry in her own room, which is a big deal for her because it means she'll have to do it with Hiroyuki, who's in charge of the household chores. The narrator then tells us about her childhood friend, who she met when she moved in with him. They're still in high school together, and they're going to light leftover fireworks from the previous year's fireworks display. Everyone from the class is going to the fireworks display, and the narrator wants to be there too. He asks if she has a crush on anyone, and she says no, but then rattles off a list of other things she'd like to see happen. Finally, the narrator asks if Hiroyuki is happy living with her. He's not, she says, because he's around her all the time. She wonders if he'd be happier living with someone else.
