The next morning, Hiro and Yonada return from work, and Hiro tells Yonada that he's decided to go back to school the next day. He's worried about how he'll handle the situation with Yonada, but he also knows that he has to tell Yonada the truth, even if they can't be friends anymore. He tells his father that he wants to compare himself to other people, even though he doesn't like them very much. Yonada tells him that the people at his other house are very kind to him, and that he looks pretty down, though. He asks Yonada to come back to his house with him so they can have some cream puffs together. He also asks his father to tell him how he feels, because he loves Yonada.
