House of the Sun

In this chapter, Hirokazu's mother remembers all of the people she loved, but she also realizes that she now has so many people that she may lose them. She tells her daughter to knock on the door of the house and invite everyone to dinner. She also tells her that she is worried about her novel, which she has been writing for a while. She says that her mother sent her away to live with her father's family, even though they live far away. She adds that even though she is apart from her mother, they are still family. She wonders if they will worry if they take too long to get to know each other. She asks if she will be coming in, and she says that she hasn't decided yet, but that she feels very welcome. She thinks that she can get some information about the protagonist from the love letter that she has kept for him.
