In this chapter, we learn that after winning the gold medal at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta, Ga., Kim Soo-nam has decided to return to school. He tells us that he has a crush on Kim's former classmate, Kwak Taebum, who is now a former national-level shooter. He is jealous of his former crush's affections for Kim, and he wants to burn the love letter and the graduation photo that Kim has sent him. Kim, however, is not interested in burning the letters and the pictures. He wants to know who his parents were, and the photo reminds him of his parents. Kim tells him not to make trouble, and then he leaves.
