In this short scene, we are introduced to lunaison, who has just returned from a trip to the amusement park, where he kissed the boy on the back of his carriage. We are also introduced to the young man's mother, who is also present at the time of the kiss. We learn that the boy's father was a member of the Ku Klux Klan, and that his mother was a fierce advocate of the black cause. We also learn that his father's first name was Johnson, and his mother's maiden name was Magua. The young man is confused by the strange behavior of his father, who seems to be in love with his mother, but he is also confused by his father. When the boy asks why he is confused, his mother replies that he is confusing admiration for his father with love for his mother. The boy, however, does not understand why his father is confused with love. He does not know why his mother is so confused, and he does not want to hurt her feelings. He is confused because his father seems to love him, but his mother does not love him. The
