About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter. It's the day before the attack, and the two men are in the middle of a fight. The two men try to escape, but the other man, who's also in the fight, escapes too. He's not sure what to do, but he's sure that he'll be killed. The other man tries to calm him down, telling him that the smell of his blood is bad for him, and that it would be better for them to leave before the other guy wakes up. But the man doesn't want to be left alone, so he tries to slap the man. The man slaps the man, and then the man grabs the man and tries to stab him. He wants to drink the blood, but can't find a way to do it. He tells the man that if he stays, he might attack someone else again. He begs the man to stay by his side, saying that he was wrong to turn him into this. He asks the man why he came to see him every day when he was in the hospital, and why he keeps the scent of the man's scent in his room. He says that the man can hardly remember what happened, because he tends to forget things
