The narrator tells us that he's going to stay overnight at the hospital so that he can take care of his mom. He asks the boy to bring him some stuff to take to the hospital, and the boy says he remembers seeing the boy when they were younger. The boy asks the narrator if he touched the wound on his mom's arm. The narrator picks up the wound and says it's okay to do so, but he doesn't want to hurt her. He tells the boy he'll take him there and treat him to a meal. The two of them go off to get some food. When they arrive, the boy asks if he can talk to his mom while they're gone. The girl says she can't, because she's been sleeping. She asks if the boy is her son, and he says he is. He says he wants to see her, too, because he wanted to talk to her while she was sleeping. The boys say they'll go see her the next day.
