It's been a while since we've heard from the Underground Man, but now he's ready to tell us about the night he met up with Miles. He and Miles had a dance and Miles wanted to be "sweet on me" just like "ordinary couples do" , but it was painful for Miles to be separated from Miles. Since then, Miles has been trying to figure out a way to "free himself" from his relationship with Miles, but he hasn't been able to do so. He wants to see more of the world, he says, and for once, he wants to be able to "take a glimpse of his memory" in a " boundless sky" .
