The narrator tells us that he's just come to have a free meal at his dad's new restaurant. He says that his dad is "prejudiced" because he hasn't been to a western restaurant before. The narrator introduces us to the restaurant's owner, who explains that the restaurant is only open to the company's "bosses" and that they're invited to try some of the best beef in the world. The owner says that the meat is "muscles, fat meat, and lean meat" , and that the chef has been specially invited to give his boss a "proper appraisal" of the meat. He'll give the boss a sirloin, a medium rare, and a black pepper sauce . If the two bosses aren't having a good meal, he'll "punish myself, okay!" . The boss who's going to be the guinea pig for the meal is tian, and the narrator introduces him as "little xu" and "the little classmate." . . the narrator says that little xu has done his homework, but that he doesn't really understand the business world as well as his uncle tian does. He adds that if it weren't for a lack of "future for the scholarly," why would the scholar go to sea to work for a business? The narrator says, "that's true" . Now, he says, there's no longer any distinction between people from different walks of life. He wishes all the bosses of the company
