In this chapter, the young narrator tries to make the young man forget about his former lover. He tells him that he likes to go to the movies because it gives him a chance to escape from his own life. He also tells the story of the first boyfriend he met at university. The young man asked the narrator to help him put on his female clothes so that he would look more like a man. The narrator is confused by this story. He thinks that the man is conflicted about what is right and wrong, but he also thinks that they were still together at the time.
