The next morning, the narrator tells us that the next day, we'll find out what's going down between the two countries. In the meantime, we learn that the marriage between western Shu and southern yan has been going on for half a month. Some believe that it's because of the necessity of fighting against barbarian invasions, while others say that it was because of how the southern emperor held the western ruler of shu captive. The narrator then tells us about how the wedding went down, and how the newlyweds ended up wearing the same wedding veil.
