A madman is digging up the bodies of the northern soldiers killed during the recent battle between the southern kingdom and the northern army. The waiter tells him that the battle is over and that the southern army is attacking the northern troops. The madman asks the king if he knows where the general is. The king says that he promised him that he would fight the southern troops together, but that he cannot find him. He tells the madman that he will fix him. One year later, another battle breaks out between the northern and southern armies. The doctor tells the man that he has brought back a wounded soldier from the southern side. The man tells the doctor that he is worried that the fight will lead to a fight between the two armies. He says that the doctor should not worry about it, as his brother's medicines are running out. He also says that his stepfather has sold him to a brothel, and that he wants to die rather than be sold to such an unfortunate fate. He gives the doctor 30 silver notes to take to the brothel.
