In this chapter, we learn that the plot to assassinate the emperor was hatched by one of his men, the mysterious "Prince Xiao." He is now in prison for plotting against the emperor, and he begs the emperor to let him go. The emperor, however, refuses, saying that it was the emperor who had brought him back to safety.
