The chapter opens with a soliloquy by the Panda. He tells the Panda that he wishes he could return to the land of peace and order. He also tells him that the Panda's kingdom is already his, and that he should let go of whatever he refuses to let go. The Panda refuses to accept the offer, saying that he will not let go even if it means pain. He asks the Panda to take him back to his mother's house in the northern kingdom, where he will be reunited with his mother. Panda says that he has already left for the western kingdom, and the Panda will go with him. He says that once they reach westernshu , he'll be his wife . Panda thanks the Panda for his kindness, and tells him to visit them whenever he wants. He then tells him about a place called tao yuan, which means "land of peach blossom." Some people believe that there is a madman who is digging through the corpses of dead soldiers in the mass graves.
