The next morning, the emperor is in the temple of Heaven, looking tired and disheveled. He's been there a long day, he says, and he's had a deal with the emperor: he'll rule over the kingdom, and the emperor's wife will be his "spoiled consort" . The emperor says that they've got a royal warrant, so they can't let anyone in, but the emperor doesn't seem to care. He says that the emperor killed a man who was a survivor of his own country, but that the man didn't want to die, so he let the man take care of his temple of heaven
