About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a conversation between the doctor and the patient. The doctor tells the patient that she has been seriously injured in a car crash and that she will need to go to the hospital immediately. The patient asks if the doctor will tell her future husband about her injury, and the doctor replies that he will. She asks if he will give her the cold shoulder, and he replies that she is a sinner, and that the consequences of her injury will be rapid aging, early menopause and endocrine disorders. She tells him that he is still haunting her, and asks if she knows he is in the hospital. He answers that she does not know him at all, and she is crueler than him. He tells her that he has stolen the clients' information from her. She will use this information to prove her innocence, and if she is suspected of being his wife, she will not hesitate to do so. She says that a woman like herself would only fancy a man who is powerful enough to make her happy, and a man like him who can entertain her and make her laugh, and who is obedient enough to keep her happy. He says that he knows what she needs better than her. He listens to her carefully, but he still cannot make his mind up.
